Burnt out socket and plug, due to overload or loose connection on extension lead.
I came across this today in a customers house. It was probably a loose connection. When a plug is pushed into a socket the clamp in the socket is pushed apart to allow the plug pin in. Sometimes the spring mechanism fails and a bad connection is made. This is the result.
