Dangers of Down Lighters

Nearly every week I come across Halogen down lighters fitted into the ceilings of homes. I have never come across a home with these in it without seeing burn damage to cables and surrounding areas of the lamps.

Halogen down lighters can be very dangerous, but can easily be replaced by LED lamps which do not generate anywhere near the same heat.
