Emergency call out to Dalkey on Sunday. Faulty immersion switch (time switch)
Got a call out from an elderly couple on Sunday. She was celebrating her 94th birthday. The time clock on the immersion had gone faulty and they had no hot water. Had the problem sorted out in a few minutes and they were very happy.
RCD’s protect lives
Every home should have an RCD (rcbo, elcb) protecting sockets, immersion, shower etc. In the event of a person getting an electric shock the RCD will trip out the electricity, thereby protecting the person from serious injury or death.
