EUGENE, Ore. — A smokey fire set off the emergency sprinkler system inside Sports Authority Saturday afternoon, fire officials said.
Firefighters arrived at the store inside Valley River Center just before 12:30 p.m. Friday to find a small electrical fire.
Eugene fire chief Jeff Kronser said that the fire produced a lot of smoke and caused a sprinkler to activate on the second floor. The sprinkler system managed to contain the fire until crews arrived, chief Kronser added.
